Engineering Video

A few months back I did a video for HDR during Engineering Week. This video spotlights numerous HDR projects throughout the Omaha area.  It is currently being shown on the Omaha Chamber of Commerce video screen on 13th and Harney. The video was made using time lapsed still photography with a 5D.  This was my first time using this technique.  Hope you enjoy it!

Sandhill Cranes 2012

Well it is Sandhill Crane time again. This year was an awesome year. There were tons of birds and the weather was great. It seemed like the cranes could not stop dancing this weekend. Every time I lifted my camera they put on a spectacular show. These images were caught using a Canon EOS 5D with a Canon L Series 2.8 300mm Prime and a 2.0 extender.

Purple

The other day while driving home I noticed how awesome the sky looked. There was a beautiful purple coloring in the sky that tinted the clouds and landscape. Luckily I had my camera with me well it wasn't really luck since my camera never leaves my side. Here is the image I got.

More from Tennessee

Here are a few more images from our trip to Tennessee. These again were taken with an infra-red camera.

Rock City

I recently took the wife and kids to Tennessee for a family vacation. One of the touristy things we did on the trip was to visit Rock City on Lookout Mountain (near Chattanooga). This is an amazing park that has paths and passages flowing throughout the natural landscape of the mountain. My favorite part of the park was a passageway in between two gigantic rock formations that was very narrow. The passage was called "Fatman's Squeeze". My kids were making bets on whether I would make it through (I did with no problem).

The day we went was a dreary rainy day so I opted to use my infra-red camera. Below are a few of my images from that day.

My Boys

Every year right before Christmas I take my boys into my studio to get their yearly portraits. These portraits go up in 16x20 frames in our living room for my wife to see on Christmas morning. It is a nice little tradition that that my wife looks forward to. These are the shots that we put up on the wall this year.

Merritt Reservoir

A group of friends and I went up to Merritt Reservoir to near Valentine, NE last weekend to get pictures of the Milky Way. We shot from sun down to sun up. I could not believe how clearly you could see the stars out there. This is my favorite shot from that night.
